Manildra

Manildra  lies on the banks of the Mandagery Creek, half way between Orange and Parkes and is home to Manildra Flour Mill, the largest flour mill in the southern hemisphere. The mill runs 24 hours a day and continues to expand.

Manildra is also home to Australia’s oldest operating picture theatre, The Amusu, pronounced “amuse-you”. Allan Tom started the Amusu Theatre in 1923 as a travelling picture show, which settled in its current position in 1936. The theatre still offers visitors and residents the opportunity to view new release films surrounded by the old world charm of yesteryear.

Manildra hosts a pub and several takeaway stores. Have a picnic in one of the two lovely parks each with BBQ facilities or try some fishing in Boree or Mandagery Creek.
