In 1984 the ladies of the Yarn Market decided they wished to contribute to the Bi-Centennial Celebrations of Australia and started planning an embroidered screen depicting two hundred years of Molong’s history
On 12 April 1988, Lady Rowland unveiled the completed works – four panels each fifty years showing snippets of the happenings in Molong
Wool and mohair was donated by local farmers and the ladies sat for many days spinning into fine thread – they then dyed this wool with natural leaves, grasses, berries etc into ninety eight different shades.
Some sixty ladies commenced the project in August 1985 – taking two years and six months to complete    There were six men also involved and they cut the trees from a property at Euchareena and made the magnificent frames in which the beautiful embroidered panels sit.
An informative narration of the screen is given on request with a small donation helping to maintain the historic 137 year old Coach House.
Visitors and tour coaches are most welcome to visit the Cobb & Co Coach House at any time –with groups we offer morning and afternoon Devonshire teas and picnic lunches – bookings essential through the Cottage on 02- 6366 8260 or email
The volunteers in the Cottage can arrange for the Coach House to be opened at any time so that visitors may take in the atmosphere of the ‘old days’ and see the history of our town.
